1:37 a.m. Sunday — Angela M. Crawford, 33, of Karns City was arrested for drunken driving following a suspected hit-and-run crash at Eau Claire and East Jefferson streets. She allegedly did not stop after her vehicle struck an unoccupied Jeep.

While city officers were looking for her vehicle, Butler Township police called to say they found it. Crawford also was found leaning against the trunk of the car, according to court documents, which had heavy front-end damage.

Police later took her for a breath test, which allegedly showed her blood-alcohol level was 0.231 percent, or nearly three times the state’s 0.08 percent legal limit.

Crawford, who has two prior convictions for driving under the influence, is charged with DUI and hit-and-run.

Friday — Bryan R. Leonard, 35, of Butler Township was charged with having methamphetamine stemming from a January incident on the 200 block of West New Castle Street. Police said they found him around 4:45 p.m. Jan. 26 yelling and staggering on the road.

A patrol officer reported seeing Leonard “throwing his arms and kicking his legs in seemingly uncontrolled motions” while walking, according to court documents. The officer noted Leonard was sweating profusely.

He subsequently admitted to smoking meth, police said. He was arrested for being under the influence of a drug and searched. Police said they found suspected methamphetamine in one of his pants pockets.

Leonard is charged with misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance and public drunkenness.
