8:10 p.m. Friday — Thomas Turner, 64, of Butler lost control of his vehicle after apparently suffering a medical emergency and crashed into a fence on Graham Road. He was not injured in the crash, but he was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital to be evaluated for an undisclosed illness.

1:45 p.m. Friday — A vehicle driven by Rebecca Townsend, 44, of Butler rear-ended another vehicle on New Castle Road near S&T Bank. Amanda Dittman, 40, of Butler was the other driver. No injuries were reported.

Police said they cited Townsend for driving too fast for conditions and careless driving.

10:20 p.m. Saturday — An unknown hit-and-run driver struck a mailbox on Kaiser Road in Summit Township. The unidentified vehicle possibly sustained damage to its front end. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.

12:57 a.m. Saturday — A 17-year-old Clarion County boy was found under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop at Hooker and Haysville roads in Fairview Township. The boy, of East Brady, was a passenger in the vehicle.

Police did not identify the teen, who they say became disorderly during the stop. The boy was cited for disorderly conduct and underage drinking.

5:10 p.m. Saturday — Samuel Rupp, 33, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after he was stopped for speeding on Route 422 east at Bish Road in Summit Township.

10:55 p.m. Thursday — Bowen G. Bly, 27, of Chicora was arrested for DUI after he crashed his pickup truck on Route 68 in Oakland Township. He is charged with DUI, driving too fast for conditions, disregarding traffic lanes and careless driving.

9:35 p.m. Feb. 12 — Kenton L. Gilstrap, 57, of Renfrew lost control of his sport utility vehicle and struck a tree along Browns Mill Road in Forward Township. The vehicle ended in a ditch between two trees. He was not injured.

3:53 p.m. Feb. 12 — An SUV driven by Mary Telesz, 77, of Ellwood City struck a guardrail on Route 19 at the Dollar General parking lot in Muddy Creek Township. Police said the crash occurred when she pressed the accelerator instead of the brake. She was not injured.

Feb. 10 — Kevin J. Ielase, 46, of Butler was charged with driving a vehicle with a counterfeit inspection sticker stemming from an earlier traffic stop in Center Township. He was pulled over around 8:35 a.m. Feb. 1 for swerving on Route 8 near Sunset Drive.

He is charged with having the counterfeit sticker, texting while driving, disregarding traffic lanes and driving a vehicle without valid inspection.

Feb. 6 — Police charged John J. Tate, 44, of Evans City with having marijuana and other contraband stemming from a January traffic stop in Jackson Township. He was stopped around 3 p.m. Jan. 28 on the 400 block of Lindsay Road.

Tate is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

12:46 a.m. Feb. 1 — James J. Styen, 21, of Butler was arrested for drunken driving following a traffic stop on Route 8 near Caravan Lane in Center Township.

In addition to DUI, he is charged with speeding, disregarding traffic lanes, failing to use low beams and littering.

4:20 p.m. Thursday — An Ohio man crashed and rolled the box truck he was driving on Interstate 80 in Wolf Creek Township. Balbir Karki, 37, of Parma was not injured.

Wednesday — Police reported they are investigating a case of suspected sexual assault last year in Pine Township.

Investigators said the Mercer County Children and Youth Services agency initially received a ChildLine referral Sept. 1 reporting that a 17-year-old Grove City boy was sexually assaulted on George Junior Road.
