Succop Nature Park, 185 W. Airport Road, Penn Township, hosts Birds and More nature walks at 9 a.m. Thursdays. The newly renovated T.W. Phillips Barn features a WindStax turbine that supplies electricity to the building, a nature store, classroom space, a large upstairs area that can be used for programs or rentals, and numerous bathrooms. Moraine State Park will be the site of a Winter Weeds Walk at 1 p.m. March 14 from the South Shore park office. The walk to the Sunken Garden Trail will be an easy 1.5-mile hike along Lake Arthur looking for dried grasses, seedpods, and other treats of nature. Dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes or boots. Meet at the South Shore park office, 225 Pleasant Valley Road, Portersville.

PA Fish & Boat Commission plans a PA Basic Boating Course from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Unionville Fire Hall, 102 Mahood Road. The course is free. Donations to Unionville Volunteer Fire Company will be appreciated. A check or money order, payable to the PFBC, in the amount of $10 is necessary to cover the cost of the actual certification card.
