Feb. 10 — Police charged a Beaver County man with failing to return a jackhammer and jackhammer bits that he leased last year at Kenmac Rentals & Sales on South Main Street. The defendant, Patrick N. Perrin, 51, of Freedom rented the items — valued at $1,331.20 — on May 20, but he allegedly did not return them even after the business sent him a certified letter.Perrin is charged with a first-degree misdemeanor count of theft of leased property.

7:25 p.m. Sunday — An Indiana County man lost control of his pickup truck and crashed over an embankment on the 200 block of Bessemer Avenue in Lyndora. The truck rolled onto its side. The driver, Mark J. McManus, 62, of Indiana, was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital to be evaluated, but he did not complain of any injuries.Police said the crash investigation continues.Friday — Police charged Erika L. Cascio, 36, of Butler for allegedly bouncing a check for $283.77 Oct. 13 at Family Bowlaway on Fairground Hill Road. She is charged with bad checks.5:51 p.m. Feb. 10 — Adriane R. Hassler, 43, of Saxonburg was one of the drivers in a five-vehicle, chain-reaction crash on Route 28 south about one-half mile north of the Highland Park Bridge exit in Aspinwall, Allegheny County.The wreck occurred when a car driven by Joseph F. Bifulco, 28, of Pittsburgh struck the rear driver's side of a pickup truck driven by Robert D. Johnson, 32, of Pittsburgh. The collision caused the car to spin out and into the rear of a car driven by Rishabh R. Biyani, 27, of Pittsburgh.Additionally, the collision caused the truck to travel forward into Hassler's sport utility vehicle and Biyani's car to travel forward into an unidentified vehicle. The unknown driver of that vehicle did not stop following the crash.Bifulco suffered the only known injury. He was taken by ambulance to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. The extent of his injuries was not known. He was cited for driving too fast for conditions and following too closely to another vehicle.
