Maier nets 13 as Butler girls grab road win

Makenna Maier scored 13 points and grabbed seven rebounds Monday night as Butler's girls basketball team came away with a 34-24 win at North Hills.

Hailey Metzger added nine points and seven rebounds, Macklin Hanley and Alison Altman three assists each for the Golden Tornado (7-10, 4-7).

Butler limited North Hills to two points in the third quarter.

Knoch 59, Apollo-Ridge 39 — Madilyn Boyer scored 16 points and Knoch got off to a quick start in defeating Apollo-Ridge.

The Knights (13-5, 9-2) jumped out to a 27-6 lead in the first quarter. That lead grew to 42-14 by halftime. Lauren Cihonski chipped in 11 points in the victory.
