Commerical building fire closes Route 19 in Jackson Twp

Firefighters are responding to the scene of a commercial building fire on Route 19 just north of Route 528.

JACKSON TWP — Route 19 between Jackson's Pointe on the south end and Air Turbine remains closed more than two hours later after multiple fire departments responded to the scene of a commercial building fire at 22311 Perry Highway earlier today.

The two story building housed LINE-X & Krown of North Pittsburgh, which moved into the building just last year.

No one was injured in the blaze, but workers were inside the building, according to Stefen Boehringer, manager at Flooring Discounters across the street.

Boehringer said he was working in the back and smelled burning plastic. When he went to see what was happening he saw brown smoke coming out of the Line-X & Krown building.

Fire crews are still on scene.
