Till leads SRU win at home

SLIPPERY ROCK — Micah Till became the eighth player in Slippery Rock University men’s basketball history to reach 1,300 career points in SRU’s 79-73 win over Edinboro at Morrow Field House on Satirday.

Till scored 26 points and grabbed seven rebounds in the win, SRU’s 11th in its last 12 meetings against the Fighting Scots (5-12, 2-11).

Will Robinson Jr. contributed 20 points and five rebounds for The Rock (10-9, 6-7) while Amante Britt had 13 points and five boards.

The victory keeps the Rock in the thick of the chase for a PSAC Tournament berth.

Edinboro 88, SRU (women) 59 — The Fighting Scots (10-7, 8-5) hit 11 of their first 17 shots and forced seven turnovers in jumping to a 25-6 lead.

Deaja Quick paced SRU (5-14, 3-10) with 13 points and three assists. Karns City graduate LeeAnn Gibson and Madison Johnson added eight points each.

SRU got as close as 10 points on the scoreboard, but could not contain the Fighting Scots.

Both Rock teams host Gannon Wednesday night. The women play at 5:30 p.m., the men at 7:30 p.m.
