5:57 p.m. Jan. 14 — Margaret C. Birsic, 38, who has no known address, was allegedly caught with a used hypodermic needle and a marijuana pipe outside a home on American Avenue after she was arrested on a bench warrant out of Westmoreland County. She is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

6:45 p.m. Tuesday — A 17-year-old Fenelton boy lost control of his pickup truck and crashed into a guardrail before overturning on Rattigan Road just west of Rabbit Road in Donegal Township. Police did not identify the boy. He and his two passengers, an 18-year-old Fenelton man and a 19-year-old Butler man, were not injured. Police cited the boy for driving on the wrong side of the road.

6:18 a.m. Tuesday — All drivers were hurt in a three-vehicle wreck in Connoquenessing Township. The crash occurred when Joshua C. Smith, 33, of Pittsburgh fell asleep at the wheel of his car eastbound on Route 68 near Rose Haven Drive, according to a police report.

The car collided with a sport utility vehicle driven by Kimberly S. Geibel, 54, of Butler. The car continued traveling east in the westbound lane and collided with a minivan driven by Kenneth J. Martin, 62, of Butler.

All three drivers suffered minor injuries, but they did not need hospital treatment. Police cited Smith for driving on the wrong aside of the road and careless driving.

Jan. 14 — Sherry L. Brahler, 38, of Clay Township was charged with drugged driving stemming from a traffic stop last year in Butler. Police said they made the stop around 11:50 a.m. May 19. A search of Brahler’s vehicle turned up a bag that had two syringes, a metal smoking pipe and a plastic tube, according to court documents. She was eventually taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test.

Toxicology results, police said, showed she had fentanyl and benzoylecgonine in her system. She is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving too fast for conditions, disregarding traffic lanes, careless driving and reckless driving.
