JEFFERSON TWP — Members of South Butler County School Board on Tuesday night:- Approved by a vote of 8-1 the audit report presented by Beth Dittmer of Maher Duessel. Dittmer audited the district’s finances for the 2018-19 school year and found no issues and made no significant recommendations. Board member George Zacherl voted against approving the audit- Approved the purchase of a new jump pit in the amount of $7,000. The device replaces an aging jump pit that was torn. The jump pit is the pillowy area where athletes land after launching themselves over the high-jump bar. Superintendent David Foley said track and field season begins in March- Approved moving $750,000 from the fund balance to the capital projects fund in anticipation of upgrades that may be performed in the district. Zacherl voted against the measure, as he would rather wait to determine what educational needs exist within the district before moving the funds- Approved a contract with Armstrong Business Solutions to provide Internet service to the district for the next two years. The cost of the service is $34,560- Approved the purchase of new software for the district’s business office at a cost of $25,000, which Foley pointed out equates to less than the district’s current cost for Internet access. The vendor is Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit Financial Information Software.
