Freshman Rice sparks Butler bowling win

Freshman Rocco Rice rolled a 224 game and 607 series Wednesday to lead the Butler boys bowling team to a 7-0 victory over Mars.

Chris Huff rolled a 583 series and 212 game. Nathan Kniess contributed a 214 game. Alex Ola led Mars with a 173 game.

Rachael Blose rolled a 582 series with a high game of 250 as the Golden Tornado girls also swept the Planets. Reegan Malis had a 258 game and 570 series.

Both Butler teams are 7-0 and host Seneca Valley next Wednesday at Family Bowlaway.

Freeport 7, Armstrong 0 — Both Yellowjacket teams cruised to victory. Mark Livingston paced the boys with a 721 series, rolling games of 237, 229 and 255. Issaic Spencer rolled a 653 series with games of 223, 217 and 213.

On the girls side, Julia Cummings rolled a 597 series for Freeport, including games of 211 and 201.

Butler dropped a 799-58x to 797-59x decision to Hempfield Wednesday.Top shooters for the Golden Tornado were Andrew Arbanas, Kayla Kopelic, Rily Rodgers, Alec Stamm, Bailey Beers and Aidan Ketterer.Butler edged Plum 797-59x to 777-32x Tuesday. Arbanas, Stamm, Ketterer, Abbie McCandless and Eli Spinneweber all shot 100s for the Golden Tornado.
