BRADY TWP — In honor of the Feb. 2 “superbOWL” owl Sunday, Jennings Environmental Center, 2951 Prospect Road, will host a day of activities dedicated to owls. Two age-specific programs will be offered:

- 10 a.m. to noon. Join Jennings staff for a morning of owl discovery. Examine wings and feet. Learn how they hunt while playing fun games. This program is intended for children ages 5 and older. Parents are welcome to stay but are not required. There is no cost to attend this program, but space is limited and pre-registration is required by Jan. 29 by calling 724-794-6011 or visit http://events.dcnr.pa.gov to register.

- 2 to 3 p.m. Feb. 2.Nature photographer and Bartramian Audubon Society President Jeffrey Hall will share his photos of the 8 species of owl that call Pennsylvania home This is a free program and pre-registration is not required.

BRADY TWP — Jennings Environmental Center, 2951 Prospect Road, will have a maple sugaring workshop from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Feb. 8.Event participants will learn, observe and practice the steps in the sugaring process, and discover how it can be done on a backyard scale.The program is free, with equipment available to purchase. PORTERSVILLE — A Ground Hog Stomp is set for 1 to 3 p.m. Feb. 2 at the Pleasant Valley Picnic Area, South Shore, Moraine State Park.Bundle up and celebrate the Pennsylvania Holiday Rodent by joining a hike beginning at Pleasant Valley; weather will determine the distance (easy to moderate hiking terrain).Hike and learn some animal facts and do a ground hog craft. Wear sturdy shoes, dress for the weather (severe weather cancels event) and take water and trail snacks. No ground hogs will be stomped; it’s just an expression.
