Auvil, Moniteau roll to 75-40 win

Kristin Auvil tallied 28 points, 10 rebounds and five assists Monday night as Moniteau cruised to a 75-40 girls basketball win over Union.

Aslyn Pry added 16 points for the Warriors (5-8), who led 42-21 at halftime.

Dominika Logue paced Union with 18 points.

Freeport 54, Indiana 43 — Madeline Clark and Harley Holloway scored 15 points each Monday night for Freeport.

The Yellowjackets trailed by two at halftime, but outscored Indiana 19-7 in the third quarter to take control.

Sidney Shemanski added 13 points for Freeport.

Butler placed fourth out of 16 teams in its division at the Virginia Duals over the weekend at the Hampton Coliseum.After losing its first match to Eastern View (Va.) 40-33, the Golden Tornado reeled off wins of 57-21 over Princess Ann (Va,), 50-28 over Fauquier (Va.), 50-18 over Graffield ((Va.) and 37-35 over Bellefonte (Pa.) to reach the third-place match. Jake Pomykata secured a pin in the heavyweight bout to end the dual win over Bellefonte.The Tornado dropped a 42-39 decision to Eastern View in the third-place match.Caleb Hartung went 6-0 with five pins, Levi Donnel 6-0 with three pins for Butler. Cooper Baxter, Steven Green and Nate McMaster all went 5-1 with four pins. Nick Schaukowitsch was 5-1 with two pins, Nate McDonald 4-2 with two pins and Clayton Dressler 4-2.Butler wrestles at New Castle Tuesday before hosting Mars Wednesday.Reynolds Duals — Seneca Valley went 3-1 at the Reynolds Duals over the weekend, defeating St. Vincent-St. Mary 45-27, Musselman 67-9 and McDowell 63-15 while dropping a 38-20 decision to Reynolds.Antonio Amelio won all four of his matches by pin at 145 pounds for the Raiders. Drew Vlasnik and Dylan Chappell both won all four of their matches, three by pin. Tyler Chappell had four wins and two pins.

Butler swept its match with North Allegheny Monday at Family Bowlaway, the boys winning 5-2 and the girls claiming a 7-0 decision.Chris Huff led the Golden Tornado boys (6-0) with a 585 series. Rocco Rice added a 563 and both bowlers had a 212 game. Jeb Jorden led North Allegheny (5-1) with a 616.Reegan Malis led the Tornado girls (6-0) with a 595 series and a 213 game. Madison Weiland had a 515 series and 197 game. North Allegheny slipped to 4-2 on the year.Butler hosts Mars at 3:15 p.m. Wednesday at Family Bowlaway.
