PASADENA, Calif. — Dwayne Johnson will revisit his younger years in a new NBC series, “The Rock,” which is the retired pro wrestler's nickname.

The network said Saturday that it's ordered 11 episodes of the comedy inspired by Johnson, who will appear in each episode and also serve as an executive producer. He was born in Northern California and spent his childhood growing up everywhere from Hawaii to Tennessee to Connecticut.

It'll be the second NBC series tied to Johnson. He is returning for a second season as host and co-executive producer of “The Titan Games.”

On the big screen, Johnson currently stars in “Jumanji: The Next Level,” and he next appears in “Jungle Cruise.”

PASADENA, Calif. — Jimmy Fallon is adding his first prime-time series to his late-night empire.He'll host “That's My Jam,” a comedy-variety event series on NBC inspired by his popular, celebrity-studded musical segments on the “The Tonight Show.” It will premiere after the Tokyo Olympics in August.Celebrities who love to sing and dance will compete against each other in classic and new musical games. Fallon also will serve as executive producer.Fallon has launched such celebrity sketches as “Wheel of Musical Impressions,” “Musical Genre Challenge,” and “History of Rap” on “The Tonight Show.”

SOCORRO, N.M. — Lou Ferrigno, the actor in the CBS television series “The Incredible Hulk,” is slated to become a sheriff's deputy in New Mexico.Socorro County Sheriff William Armijo is scheduled to deputize Ferrigno this week at a special ceremony.Officials say Ferrigno will bring decades of law enforcement experience to the department and be instrumental in recruiting for the department and the county.The 68-year-old Ferrigno has served as a reserve sheriff's deputy in Los Angeles County and a member of the volunteer sheriff posse in Maricopa County, Ariz.Ferrigno played the Hulk in the 1970s television series.

PASADENA, Calif. — Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will share host duties for the Golden Globes ceremony in 2021.Poehler herself shared the announcement at a TV critics meeting Saturday, just a week after the ceremony aired with Ricky Gervais as host.At the Jan. 5 ceremony, Gervais' snarky jokes in his fifth turn as host received mixed reviews and reactions from the celebrity audience. He repeatedly said during the ceremony that it was the last time he intended to emcee.Poehler and Fey have hosted three times before.
