Moniteau girls roll past Lions; Beighley keys KC boys win

Moniteau's girls basketball team's dominating effort at Clarion-Limestone Friday night was led by Aslyn Pry.

The junior guard totaled a career-high 27 points, 14 rebounds and four steals as the Warriors crushed the Lions, 61-21.

Kristin Auvil added 10 points and 10 rebounds for Moniteau (4-8) and Abby Rottman contributed 11 points.

Karns City's Chase Beighley scored 28 points and also added seven rebounds and five assists as the Gremlins overcame a sluggish start to defeat North Clarion 51-40.

Nathan Waltman pitched in nine points and 10 boards for Karns City (7-4, 4-1), which outscored North Clarion 37-13 in the second half.

Amber Cepec added a 565 series with a high game of 219.

The Freeport boys got a 598 series from Mark Livingston, but fell to Saint Joseph 5-2.

Hockey

Addison Stewart scored three goals Thursday night as Freeport defeated Blackhawk, 5-3. It was Stewart's second career hat trick.

Nico DiSanti added a goal and three assists for the Yellowjackets while Cristello added a goal and Sebastian Cordier two assists.
