Butler Police1:21 a.m. Wednesday — Three people were injured in a rear-end crash on Route 8 south near Butler Tires for Less. The wreck happened when a car driven by Tasha Saeler, 29, of Butler struck the back of a sport utility vehicle.Police said they suspect Saeler was impaired and charges are pending lab results. She and two of her passengers were taken to Butler Memorial Hospital. One passenger was treated for a broken arm and another complained of wrist pain. Saeler complained of rib pain.The other driver, Robert Anderson, 57, of Valencia, and his three passengers were apparently not injured.11:31 a.m. Dec. 27 — Michael J. West, 35, of Butler was arrested following a reported hit-and-run crash at North Main and West Pearl streets.Police said they found the victim, who complained of shoulder pain, and her damaged sport utility vehicle in the middle of West Pearl Street. The woman told police that the suspect’s vehicle struck the front of her vehicle while turning, and did not stop.Police, a short time later, found West and the damaged car, which he was allegedly driving, on the 500 block of Bredin Street, near his home. The defendant admitted to driving the vehicle, according to court documents, “and said he did not stop as he is a suspended (driver).”West was arraigned on misdemeanor charges of hit-and-run and driving with a suspended license-DUI related. He was placed in the Butler County Prison on $10,000 bond following arraignment.3:57 p.m. Dec. 21 — Jackson R. Blakely, 21, was arrested on charges he shoved and pushed his mother while she held his child in her arms during a domestic dispute at his home on the 500 block of West Penn Street. Blakely was arraigned on misdemeanor charges of child endangerment and simple assault. He was placed in the Butler County Prison on $15,000 bond following arraignment.

Butler Township Police7:44 a.m. Tuesday — David Thomas, 76, of Prospect was hurt in a two-vehicle wreck on Route 422 east at the Route 8 on-ramp. The crash happened when a vehicle driven by James A. Bryan, 28, of West Sunbury merged onto Route 422 and collided with Thomas’ vehicle. Thomas suffered a minor injury. Police cited Bryan for careless driving.11:48 a.m. Monday — Jeffrey A. Kennedy, 57, of Butler was arrested after he allegedly assaulted a woman during an incident on Irene Drive. The victim suffered minor injuries. Kennedy was arraigned on charges of simple assault and harassment, and placed in the Butler County Prison on $50,000 bond.

Grove City Police7:16 p.m. Monday — David W. Grossman, 33, of Harrisville was arrested for drugged driving at Stewart and Stockton avenues. In addition to driving under the influence of a controlled substance, he is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, a lighting violation and driving with improper tires.

State Police, ButlerWednesday — Steven A. Dorenkamp, 58, was arrested on charges stemming from the alleged sexual assault of a woman Dec. 18 or 19 at his home on McGinley Road in Oakland Township. Dorenkamp was arraigned on a felony charge of aggravated indecent assault. He is free on $10,000 unsecured bond with the condition he have no contact with the victim.9 p.m. Tuesday — Sophia D. Roche, 29, of Butler was arrested for allegedly assaulting her 31-year-old husband during a domestic dispute at their North Road home in Franklin Township. She is accused of hitting the man in the chest, leg and groin. Roche was arraigned on charges of simple assault and harassment, and later released on nonmonetary bond.6:10 p.m. Tuesday — No one was injured when a sport utility vehicle driven by Jacob G. Pry, 19, of West Sunbury collided head-on with car on Bonniebrook Road in Summit Township. Codi N. Misera, 20, of Butler was the other driver. Police cited Pry for driving too fast for conditions.5:45 p.m. Tuesday — Laura R. Shope, 20, of Venetia, Washington County, lost control of her minivan on ice and snow-covered Route 108 in Worth Township, traveling off the road and hitting a gas meter and utility pole. She was nut injured but her vehicle had to be towed.4:04 p.m. Tuesday — No one was hurt in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 79 south in Worth Township. The wreck occurred when Dana N. Ehrlich, 22, of Mount Holly, N.J., lost control of her car while attempting to pass another car driven by John S. Barbato, 64, of Mentor, Ohio. Ehrlich’s car hit the other vehicle, which had to be towed.3:32 p.m. Tuesday — A pickup truck driven by Joshua S. Lewis, 30, of Fenelton struck a ditch on snow-covered Kaiser Road in Summit Township. He was not injured, but his truck had to be towed.3:39 a.m. Tuesday — William Claypool, 27, of Slippery Rock was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after he approached a police cruiser with his vehicle’s high beams on and also failed to use a turn signal on Kaufman Road in Butler. Police noted charges are pending lab results.10:25 p.m. Monday — Leigh Shankel, 33, of Mars was arrested for suspicion of DUI after she was stopped for driving an SUV without its headlights on at Mars and Dutilh roads in Cranberry Township.5:48 p.m. Monday — A car driven by John T. Greenia, 63, of Kittanning struck a deer on Route 422 east just east of Heist Road in Summit Township. Neither Greenia nor his passenger was hurt but the car had to be towed.4:36 p.m. Monday — A Butler couple was hurt in a two-vehicle collision in Center Township. Robert Weiland, 89, and Grace Weiland, 88, both suffered minor injuries. Police said Robert Weiland was driving his car on Route 8 and turned left onto Route 308 when he struck the other vehicle driven by Judith A. Ambuster, 63, of Butler. Both cars had to be towed.1:19 a.m. Dec. 29 — Dominick M. McCowan, 18, of Butler was allegedly found with marijuana and other contraband following a traffic stop on the 200 block of New Castle Road in Butler Township. He is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, careless driving, a lighting violation, and failing to notify authorities of a change in address.1:49 a.m. Dec. 28 — Erik Schreckengost, 39, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of DUI on the 1100 block of Herman Road in Clearfield Township.4:03 p.m. Dec. 27 — Hunter R. Rowe, 18, of Chicora lost control of his car and struck a pickup truck that was parked on East Slippery Rock Road just east of Spring Street in Chicora. Police cited Rowe for disregarding traffic lanes.11:39 p.m. Dec. 23 — Shawn Brannon, 25, of Bradford Woods, Allegheny County, was arrested for suspicion of DUI on North Road in Franklin Township.3:23 a.m. Dec. 21 — Ethan J. Hicks, 21, of Butler was arrested for illegally having a handgun while riding in a car pulled over on the 200 block of East Metzger Avenue in Butler Township. Also arrested was Michael Kradel, 19, of Saxonburg for suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs.Police said Hicks is a felon and is prohibited under state law from possessing any guns. He was arraigned on felony charges of prohibited possession of a firearm and possession of a firearm without a carry license. He was placed in the Butler County Prison on $20,000 bond following arraignment.Charges against Kradel are pending lab results, according to a police report.2:38 a.m. Dec. 8 — Charles W. Arblaster, 39, of Boyers drove his SUV off Euclid Road in Clay Township while taking a left turn. His vehicle hit an embankment and overturned, but Arblaster wasn’t injured, police said. The SUV was towed.Police cited Arblaster for failing to give information and render aid after an accident, driving too fast for conditions, disregarding traffic lanes, careless driving and disobeying traffic control devices.

State Police, MercerThursday — A Venango County man was charged with illegally trying to buy a gun Sept. 4 at Outlet Firearms on South Center Street in Springfield Township, Mercer County. Police said Christopher Clevenger, 43, of Oil City was denied the purchase after his information was entered into the Pennsylvania Instant Check system. He is charged with unlawfully attempting to buy a firearm, a felony, and unsworn falsification to authorities, a misdemeanor.
