Judge William Shaffer handed down the following sentences on Thursday:

Chad D. Caldwell, 36, of Butler was sentenced to five years of intermediate punishment with the first nine months on house arrest with electronic monitoring for driving under the influence. Caldwell was also sentenced to an additional six months of house arrest with electronic monitoring for having a blood-alcohol level of .02 or higher, second offense. Additionally, Caldwell must serve 100 hours of community service and pay a $2,500 fine. Caldwell was charged April 22 and pleaded guilty on Nov. 22.

Francis Sydlik, 58, of Butler was sentenced to six months of intermediate punishment with the first 42 days on house arrest with electronic monitoring for driving under the influence. Sydlik must also serve 60 hours of community service and pay a $750 fine. Sydlik was charged June 29 and pleaded guilty on Nov. 4.

Charles L. Zimmerman, 57, of Mars was sentenced to one year of probation and $225 in fines for recklessly endangering another person. Zimmerman was charged March 11 and pleaded guilty on Nov. 5.
