One-vehicle crash closes Oneida Valley Road in Center Twp.

CENTER TWP - Route 38, also known as Oneida Valley Road, is closed in both directions due to a crash between Glenwood Way and Pine Tract Road in Center Township, just south of Marshall Offstein Auto Sales.

One vehicle was involved in the accident, which was reported at 9:30 a.m.

An electrical pole that was struck was sheared in half; bringing down live wires near the scene. Three West Penn Power trucks are currently on scene and electric lines near the area were seen sparking.

Motorists should avoid the area and find alternative routes.

The accident also caused power outages for 223 West Penn Power customers, according to the company's spokesman Todd Meyer. About 160 of those customers were in Center Township, with the remainder in Oakland Township.

At about 10:30 a.m., Meyers said crews were working to reconfigure the power network to bring at least some of the affected customers online. Some may have to wait until the pole is replaced, he said. Emergency responders from Oneida Valley, Unionville and Oakland are all scene.

Butler Eagle staff are on scene and we will update this story as more information becomes available.
