Hospice staff, nurses honored

Event recognizes those who go above, beyond

CABOT — Six staff members from Concordia’s Good Samaritan Hospice were honored at the Armstrong Healthcare Consortium 16th Annual Health Care Worker Recognition Event.

Staffers Patricia Overlock, Marie Predebon, Candace Hepler and Amy Knappenberger and Concordia Visiting Nurses health care professionals Amanda Beltrami and Brianna Seyler received awards Nov. 14 at The Inn at Lenape Heights.

The event recognizes outstanding health care professionals who work or reside in Armstrong County and are nominated by human resources managers.

- Overlock of East Brady has served the hospice as a health assistant. She was honored for continually caring for difficult patients and treating them with dignity and respect.

- Predebon of Leechburg, a registered nurse and case manager, was recognized for caring for patients even on her days off to provide support for patients and families to ensure quality time before they died.

- Hepler of Spring Church, a hospital liaison and registered nurse, is an expert at working with difficult family dynamics, advocating for the patient and educating the family. She was acknowledged for the encouragement and moral support she provides.

- Knappenberger of Ford City is a licensed practical nurse and hospital liaison for the hospice. She was recognized for finding novel approaches to bringing compassionate care to patients and going beyond the call of duty to provide what they need.

- Seyler of Butler County is an occupational therapist with Concordia Visiting Nurses who is honored for going the extra mile to secure the adaptive equipment her patients need as well as contacting vendors and insurance companies on their behalf.

- Beltrami of Armstrong County is a licensed practical nurse who was recognized for her attitude and professionalism, which puts patients at ease.
