Two-vehicle accident slows traffic on Route 228

Two vehicles, an SUV and a pickup truck, were involved in the accident at the intersection of Route 228 and Heritage Creek Drive in the township Monday afternoon.

ADAMS TWP — A two-vehicle accident slowed traffic on Route 228 Monday afternoon.

Two vehicles, an SUV and a pickup truck, were involved in the accident at the intersection of Route 228 and Heritage Creek Drive in the township.

The SUV sustained heavy front-end damage.

According to Adams Area Fire Chief Tim Llewellyn, fire crews from Callery, Cranberry Township and Adams were called to the scene. Cranberry Township Fire Company and Callery Volunteer Fire Company were canceled, according to Llewellyn.

At this time, the extent of injuries and the cause of the crash are unknown.

Both vehicles were towed.

Traffic on Route 228 was moving, but lanes were blocked on Heritage Creek Drive.
