Cranberry Township hosted Christmas festivities over the weekend

Sunny Park and her son, Eddie Ryu, of Seven Fields stop to look at the Christmas trees on their way out the door of the Cranberry Township Municipal Center on Sunday.

A plethora of pleasant pines lined the halls of the Cranberry Township building.

The trees are part of the Cranberry Township Community Chest's Tree Gallery, but that wasn't the only draw for people to stop by the township center over the weekend.

On both Saturday and Sunday, children enjoyed free cookies and a visit from the one and jolliest Santa Claus.

Eddie said he got to talk with Santa after he ate his cookie.

“I got a Christmas tree-shaped cookie with green icing and Christmas-colored sprinkles,” he said.

On Sunday, the township also offered families a chance to bring their pet for photographs with Mr. Kringle.

Jacob and Joan Lapyczak brought their Jack Russell named Pete for his photograph.

“He gets his picture taken with Santa every year,” Joan Lapyczak said. “It's a memory for us.”
