Symphony house tour a holiday season tradition

Chris Savannah said her mother helped decorate this festive dining room display for the 30th annual Butler County Symphony Holiday Tour of Homes. Tickets are still available for Saturday's tour.

The 30th annual Butler County Symphony house tour hits just the right note, putting patrons in the holiday spirit and raising money for a community treasure.

Among the five stops featured on Saturday's tour is the home of Chris and Mike Savannah. The tour runs through 4 p.m.

The Savannah home shows off the interests and passions of its family. Chris is a bassoonist with the symphony and Christmas trees with musical touches can be found as well as a Navy tree honoring Mike's 21 years of service.

Among the must see items are an equestrian tree reflecting the achievements and love of horses of one of their daughters, a stunning dining room which Chris credits to her mother's decorating skills, and Santa's suit hanging in the laundry room, a long-standing family tradition.

Tickets cost $25 and are still available by stopping at the First English Lutheran Church, 241 N. Main St., or ordering them online at butlersymphonyorchestra.org. Proceeds benefit the symphony.
