B'nai Abraham will have a Hanukkah luncheon from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Dec. 22. Once again, the men will be frying up latkes and kosher hot dogs.

The Religious School is collecting new undergarments and sweat pants sizes 4-16 for the Butler Area School District. These are the items specifically asked for by the schools. The collection will continue through the month of December. A table for contributions has been set up in the lobby of the sanctuary.

Butler Church of the Nazarene has Gwen Atkinson providing the special music for Sunday morning worship.Christ Community UNITED METHODISTThe office at Christ Community United Methodist Church will be closed Friday. The Red Church Offering Sunday will benefit the organization VOICe. Sunday is the last day to order poinsettias.The Special Olympics meeting is at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. The First English Lutheran Church community dinner work team will meet at 4 p.m. Monday. The men's fellowship group meets at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday. Quilters will meet at 9 a.m. Wednesday.

Covenant Presbyterian Church lights the Peace Candle marking the second Sunday of Advent at the 11 a.m. Sunday worship service. The Minute for Mission will dedicate Christmas gifts for the middle school children in need.There is an 11 a.m. Tuesday Advent prayer service.

Faith United Presbyterian Church has 9:30 a.m. Sunday school and a 10:30 a.m. worship service with Communion.The Deacons will meet after the service. The AA group will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. WW meets at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Wednesday, at 10 a.m. Dec. 12 and at 8:30 a.m. Dec. 14.

First Baptist Church has its children's Christmas party at 9 a.m. Saturday at the church. The Berean class Christmas banquet is at 1:30 p.m. Saturday.The Sunday services begin at 9:45 a.m. with Sunday school followed by an 11 a.m. worship service.The Celebration of Christmas concert is at 5 p.m. Sunday in honor of second- and third-grade teacher, Marlene Corbin, and featuring Pastor Todd Wentworth and the First Baptist Christian School children. A love offering will be taken up to aid the Corbin family with medical expenses. Fellowship and refreshments will follow the concert.

First English Lutheran Church will have a chrismons decorating workshop from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Thursday in the church craft room for anyone willing to help with this project.The Butler Symphony House Tour Luncheon will be at First English on Saturday.The Second Sunday of Advent Worship Service will be at 10 a.m. with Sunday School at 9:15 a.m.There will be a Butler Area Lutheran Ministries Youth event at 6 p.m. Sunday at Altitude trampoline park.There will be an Advent Dinner and worship at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday. Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church celebrates Holy Communion at the 10 a.m. Sunday worship service which marks the Second Sunday of Advent. Children ages 5-12 are invited to stay afterward for GLOW.GracewayGraceWay meets each Sunday morning for a 10 a.m. worship service at the Center Township Elementary School on Mercer Road. Karns City United Methodist Church has a community hymn sing beginning at 7 p.m. Sunday.

Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Road, Mars, will host a Dec. 18 Christmas concert with a choir of youths from South Africa who were affected by poverty and family disruption. The members need host homes for the night.Old Union congregation members will help the Evans City Food Cupboard to prepare for its holiday distribution. Six to 12 people are needed for this community service.Church members go caroling at 4 p.m. Dec. 15.

Join Orchard Hill Butler County for a Family Christmas party from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at 107 Staley Ave. It will be a night of fun activities, and some friendly kids versus adults competition. Register at orchardhillchurch.com/butler-county.

St. John's Lutheran Church in Connoquenessing has a Dec. 15 deadline for gifts and money for the church's Christmas family.There will be a short congregation meeting after Sunday worship to adopt the proposed 2020 church budget and vote for the candidates for Church Council and Cemetery Association.

St. John's Lutheran Church in Mars has vestry elections after both worship services Sunday.The ladies book group will not meet in December. Its next meeting will be Jan. 15.The quilting group will meet at 6 p.m. Monday. For more information, see Cindy Knauff.

St. John's United Church of Christ in Evans City has worship and JAM Time at 10 a.m. Sunday with fellowship time following. After fellowship, the church will set up Walk Through Bethlehem.Cookies for the sale should be brought to the church by noon Friday. St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Saxonburg celebrates the second Sunday in Advent with a special candlelighting service at 8:15 and 10:45 a.m. Sunday. Holy Communion will be shared at the 8:15 a.m. service. A doughnut fellowship follows each service in the Café.Christmas gifts for Glade Run special children must be returned unwrapped Sunday.The Outreach Ministry Team will lead the 2 p.m. Christmas Carol Worship at the Orchard at Saxony, 223 Pittsburgh St., Saxonburg. Trinity Presbyterian Church hosts The Christmas Miracle Tour presented by the Academy of Dreamers at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 14.
