Werner 100th birthday
Ruth Werner of Passavant Retirement Community, 103 Burgess Drive, Apt. 2008, Zelienople will celebrate her 100th birthday with a family celebration and reunion Thursday through Sunday. A granddaughter from Scotland and a grandson from California, as well as family members from Pennsylvania, Ohio, Florida and Illinois are expected to attend.
The former Ruth Miller was born Dec. 5, 1919, in Willshire, Ohio. She married Robert Werner Oct. 12, 1941, in Ann Arbor, Mich. He died Feb. 7, 1996.
She has four children, Roger (Betty) of Ocala, Fla.; Gary (Lois) of Massillion, Ohio; Linda Powlus of Harmony; and Phil (Gail) of Allison Park.
She also has seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Werner is a retired nurse.
She is a member of the English Lutheran Church of Zelienople, Historic Harmony, the League of Women Voters, National Communal Society and was a charter member of the Zelienople Historical Society.
