Elected officials commended for turning out for vets

On Nov. 8, our state representative, Marcie Mustello, hosted a Veterans Appreciation Luncheon at the American Legion Post in Lyndora. Also in attendance were County Commisioners Leslie Osche and Kim Geyer. The color guard was provided by Butler High School Jr. ROTC and patriotic music was performed by the Butler High School Choir. Both did an outstanding job.

Veterans in attendance ranged from WWII vets to those from our recent wars in the Middle East. All branches were well represented. The keynote speaker was Marcie Mustello, who gave an outstanding and heartfelt speech of appreciation to all our veterans.

As a member of Marine Corps League 743, I believe I speak for all that we were greatly honored and deeply appreciative of the efforts and patriotism shown to us by our hosts. We in Butler County are fortunate to have such wonderful elected representatives who would take such extraordinary efforts on the part of our communities veterans.
