Left-turn restriction permanent

ADAMS TWP — PennDOT Community Relations Coordinator Jamie Arehart contacted the Eagle Tuesday to clarify that the left-turn restriction on Beaver Street Extension from Route 228 is not under a 60-day trial. The newspaper reported it as such following a township supervisor meeting on Monday.

Citing a press release issued by PennDOT Nov. 1, Arehart said the signs are permanently installed.

“This is not a 60-day rule and we have no idea where that came from,” Arehart said in an email to the Eagle.

Arehart said she checked with local PennDOT officials to verify the 60-day idea hadn't been agreed upon.

Local PennDOT officials had no knowledge of it, according to Arehart.

The signs are permanent.

“Unless there is a significant change in traffic conditions,” Arehart said.

Relaying a statement from township manager Gary Peaco, assistant secretary Candace Mathews said the township will “continue to monitor” traffic in the area.
