The Route 8 southbound lanes just before Butler Tires for Less were closed earlier this morning for a one-vehicle crash when the driver of a southbound pickup truck struck the side of the bridge.

The driver of pickup truck was injured as a result of the 7 a.m. crash, which closed southbound traffic for about 20 minutes before one lane reopened.

Butler police and fire departments responded to the scene, along with a crew from Butler Ambulance Service.

The driver was taken out of the truck and placed on a stretcher before being taken to Butler Memorial Hospital, authorities said.

The extent of the injuries were unknown but they did not appear to be serious.
