Greeting card, gift shop closed after accident

Medical personnel tend to a woman, whose Honda CR-V went through the window of the Hallmark store at Butler Commons on Wednesday.

BUTLER TWP — A driver crashed through the Hallmark store at the Butler Commons shopping center Wednesday morning.

The right-side window of the store was smashed in, while displays lay all over the ground inside the store and glass littered the sidewalk outside following the crash, which took place around 11:30 a.m., police said.

Police at the scene said the driver — a woman, whose age was unknown — was being given a medical evaluation, but that she did not appear to have injuries.

The driver had been trying to park in a spot in front of the store at 270 Butler Commons, when her Honda CR-V ran up over the curb and into the store's front window, police said.Firefighters from the Butler Township Fire District swept up glass in front of the store and backed the vehicle out into the parking lot around noon.The store was closed to customers after the accident.
