Vehicle into ditch stops traffic on Lindsay Road

Traffic was halted on Lindsay Road Tuesday afternoon when one car slid into a ditch and a truck blocked the roadway.

JACKSON TWP — Traffic was halted on Lindsay Road Tuesday afternoon when one car slid into a ditch and a truck blocked the roadway.

Emergency dispatchers initially reported a multivehicle accident around 12:30 p.m. But, Harmony Fire District firefighters say, there was no collision.

On scene, a box truck was stuck diagonally, facing eastbound, across both lanes of traffic, while a white sedan sat in a driveway of a nearby house. While the truck needed to be winched out of a slight ditch, it was able to drive away, east on Route 528.

Firefighters did not immediately know the cause of the incident, but officials speculated ice or snow could have been involved.

Neither vehicle had any visible damage. The road reopened to traffic around 1:15 p.m.

Jackson Township police assisted at the scene.
