SLIPPERY ROCK TWP - State police arrested two men and are looking for a third this morning following a strong-armed robbery early Friday morning at an apartment complex in Slippery Rock.

Late Friday night, police reported the arrests of Xavier A. Brown, 21, and Duy G. Nguyen, 22, both of Slippery Rock. Both men have been charged with two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of robbery, one count of reckless endangerment, one count of theft by unlawful taking, one count of theft by receiving stolen property and one count of assault.

Both are in the Butler County Prison with bail set at $250,000 each.

A third man - Troy Moon, 21, also of Slippery Rock - is still being sought by authorities.

Police were called by staff at Grove City Medical Center about midnight Friday. According to State Police, hospital staff reported treating a 24-year-old Pittsburgh man with a head wound.

"We believe the victim was the target," said Cpl. Tim Morando, an investigator with the Pennsylvania State Police.

Police reported overnight that the victim told investigators he was at a friend's apartment at The Grove Apartments complex on Harmony Road in Slippery Rock on Thursday night when Brown pulled a gun on him. The victim told police wrestled with Brown, Nguyen and Moon over the gun and that he was hit in the back of the head with the pistol during the course of the altercation.

The gun went off and fired a round into the ceiling of the apartment.

Troopers spoke to the man at the medical center and he was transported by helicopter to a Pittsburgh hospital with a skull fracture, where he was listed in serious condition Friday .

A campuswide email sent to students and faculty by Slippery Rock University early Friday morning reported victim was not a student at the university.

Police ask anyone with information on Moon's whereabouts is asked to call them at 724-284-8100.
