Butler Police10:05 p.m. Oct. 18 — John J. Jackson, 42, of Butler was arrested after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend during a domestic dispute at a home on the 300 block of North Chestnut Street.Police said after they got to the home, the victim fell unconscious from her apparent injuries in the incident, according to court documents. She had a cut and was bleeding above the right eye and had facial bruising. She later told police that Jackson grabbed her and slammed her head on the kitchen counter.Jackson was arraigned on a charge of simple assault, and placed in the Butler County Prison in lieu of $5,000 bond following arraignment.

Butler Township PoliceOct. 18 — Police charged an Allegheny County man with shoplifting a golf club Aug. 14 at Dick’s Sporting Goods at Greenwood Plaza. On Aug. 15, the suspect, Anthony J. Beresford, allegedly returned the Callaway driver for a cash value of $231.Beresford is charged with a misdemeanor count of retail theft.

State Police, Butler7:16 p.m. Thursday — Mark L. Munsch, 63, of Portersville was hurt when the car he was driving hit a deer on Interstate 79 just north of East Lancaster Road in Lancaster Township. He was wearing a seat belt and suffered apparent minor injuries. His car had to be towed.8:31 p.m. Wednesday — A group of opossums was apparently a factor in a two-vehicle crash on Stoughton Road, about one-half mile west of Route 173 in Slippery Township.Police said the wreck happened as one of the drivers, Dominique D. Moye, 22, of Pittsburgh, was stopped at the bottom of a hill to avoid hitting the band of marsupials. The other driver, Tessa M. Reeseman, 27, of Slippery Rock swerved to the left but she was unable to stop in time and struck the back of Moye’s vehicle.Reeseman’s car, following the impact, went off the road and struck a tree. Both drivers and Reeseman’s three passengers, including two children ages 7 and 8, were not injured. All the occupants were wearing seat belts or were in booster seats.Police cited Reeseman for driving too fast for conditions.Wednesday — Kenneth J. Kelminsky, 29, of Renfrew was charged with drugged driving stemming from a traffic stop about 8:50 p.m. Sept. 28 on East Jefferson Street near Franklin Street.Toxicology results subsequently showed Kelminsky had marijuana and the opioid-agonist medication buprenorphine in his system, according to court documents.He is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance and a rear lighting violation.8:07 p.m. Tuesday — A teenager was injured in a two-vehicle wreck in Jefferson Township. The crash happened when sport utility vehicles driven by Candee L. Barnes, 60, of Butler and Ryan M. Hoellein, 30, of Ellwood City collided at Route 356 at Caldwell Drive.One of Hoellein’s passengers, Breanna Mesko, 19, of Ellwood, was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with unknown injuries. She was not wearing a seat belt.Police cited Barnes for a stop sign violation and not wearing a seat belt.12:29 p.m. Monday — A pickup truck driven by Stephen D. Gingery, 69, of Pittsburgh struck another pickup after crossing the center line while traveling a curve on Bonniebrook road just south of Jones Road in Jefferson Township. Neither Gingery nor the other driver, Troy D. Giesler, 48, of Butler, was injured. Both were wearing seat belts.Police cited Gingery for disregarding traffic lanes.7:54 a.m. Oct. 19 — A car driven by Sharon J. Dubyak, 60, of Slippery Rock struck a deer on Route 8 just south of Johnson Lane in Slippery Rock Township. Dubyak was not injured but her car had to be towed.10:38 p.m. Oct. 16 — Isaac J. Huber, 24, of Butler was hurt when the car he was driving struck an utility pole after the car he was driving hit an embankment twice and crossed over Thorn Run Road just north of Thorn Drive in Oakland Township.Huber, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered a minor injury.10:50 p.m. Oct. 12 — Taite Dusheck, 18, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence at Harmony Road and South Rock Drive in Slippery Rock Township.A police report said Dusheck’s blood-alcohol level was over the 0.02 percent legal limit in Pennsylvania for drivers under 21.12:35 p.m. Sept. 7 — Three people were seriously injured in a one-vehicle wreck on Route 38 just west of Heaven Lane in Cherry Valley.The crash happened when Pamela M. Nenigar, 35, of Boyers lost control of her car, hitting an embankment, rolling over and striking a utility pole.Nenigar and her two passengers — William H. Dawson, 30, and a 13-year-old girl, both of Eau Claire — were removed from the car and taken to UPMC Presbyterian hospital in Pittsburgh.Neither Nenigar nor Dawson was wearing a seat belt. It was unknown if the girl had a seat belt on.Police cited Nenigar for disregarding traffic lanes.
