Mars Community Change candidates running clean campaigns

The General Election is rapidly approaching on Nov. 5.

It is generally understood that all politics are local. School boards are an exception — or should be.

Polarization isn’t a teaching tool. Character attacks, slurs, or distortion of facts should not be in play or part of the local election process.

That was not the case for the primary election here in Mars last May. The community and the children deserve examples of integrity, honesty, and fair play — treating others as you would like to be treated.

That is why Mars Community Change candidates Megan Lenz, Bill Sommers, Jill Roda, Jill Caesar and John Neurohr have all pledged to run a campaign free of personal attacks, focusing on issues that matter, and being transparent.

Let’s hope the other candidates for school board will do the same and we get a nonpartisan election worthy of the Mars community

Bill Ewart,
