FRANKLIN TWP — State police have confirmed that a man who 911 dispatchers said fell into a pit early Tuesday afternoon has died.

Several fire companies, police, Butler Ambulance units, state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources officials and others milled around a small sewer plant on Park Road in Franklin Township, where a trooper investigated the death.

A Prospect borough worker at the scene said the plant, which is on Moraine State Park land, processes sewage for the borough. He said coworkers of the man, who remains unnamed at this time, were grieving at the plant around noon.
