Father, son sustain minor injuries in motorcycle accident

Two people suffered minor injuries after a motorcycle accident Sunday on Eagle Mill Road in Connoquenessing Township.

CONNOQUENESSING TWP - A father and son apparently suffered only minor injuries when the motorcycle they were riding crashed about 2:30 p.m. on Eagle Mill Road.

State police said the driver, a 35-year-old Butler Township man, lost control of the Harley-Davidson while northbound on the road near Route 422.

Authorities did not release the names of the man or his 13-year-old son. Both riders were on the road when police and emergency crews arrived. Both were wearing helmets.

The man was taken by ambulance and plans were being made to fly him by medical helicopter to a Pittsburgh hospital.

Police said the man was "woozy" and complained of shoulder pain.

No one saw the crash but several motorists came upon the wreck and stopped to help. Some stayed to assist by keeping the boy from moving until a Butler Ambulance Service crew and Prospect volunteer firefighters arrived.

Police said the boy was being taken to Butler Memorial Hospital primarily for precautionary reasons.

A cause of the crash was not immediately known.
