1:41 p.m. Sunday — David H. Tack Jr., 54, of Butler was arrested on charges of drugged driving and having drugs after he crashed his car into a stop sign and a parked vehicle at West New Castle and North Chestnut streets.

Police said Tack admitted to being on prescribed tranquilizers and using crack cocaine the previous night. He was searched, according to court documents, and found with suspected crack in his wallet.

He was arraigned on charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance. He was placed in the Butler County Prison on $3,000 bail following arraignment.

11:31 p.m. Sept. 4 — A repeat drunken driver was arrested for felony DUI following a traffic stop in the area of Hansen Avenue and Renaissance Drive. The defendant, Curt A. Adams, 53, of Lyndora, allegedly admitted he had been drinking alcohol that night.

A breath test later allegedly showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.130 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.

Police said they checked Adams' record and found three prior convictions for driving under the influence, according to court documents.

In addition to a felony count of DUI, he is charged with driving with a suspended license with a blood-alcohol level greater than 0.02 percent, and a lighting violation.

Thursday — Daniel J. Mikula, 63, of West Sunbury was arraigned on charges that he illegally tried to buy a gun May 10 at Dick's Sporting Goods in Greenwood Plaza.He is charged with unlawfully attempting to buy a firearm, a felony, and unsworn falsification to authorities, a misdemeanor. He was released on his own recognizance following arraignment.6:38 a.m. Monday — Alexander M. Kocko, 53, of Lyndora was arrested stemming from the alleged assault of a woman on Boyd Drive. Police said the victim was treated at Butler Memorial Hospital for unspecified injuries and released.Kocko was arraigned Tuesday on misdemeanor charges of simple assault and strangulation and a summary charge of harassment. He was placed in the Butler County Prison on $3,000 bond following arraignment

Monday — An unknown thief stole a JBL car stereo system purse, fentanyl patches and oxycodone pills from a vehicle on the 900 block of Broadway Avenue in East Butler. The theft occurred between 2 a.m. and 11 a.m. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.6 p.m. Sunday — Kenneth D. Wise, 43, was arrested after he allegedly assaulted a family member under the age of 18 at the family’s home on St. Wendelin Road in Summit Township.Police said they went to the home for a welfare check and found Wise and the victim. He told troopers that he “disciplined (the family member) for arriving home late,” according to a police report. The alleged victim recounted that Wise struck and pushed her down after she returned home late.The victim had an abrasion and bruising on the right side of her face. The defendant was arraigned on charges of simple assault and harassment, and he was placed in the Butler County Prison on $2,000 bond.3:15 a.m. Sunday — Surveillance video caught four young males — dressed in dark hooded sweatshirts and pants — attempting to break into a garage on the 600 block of Herman Road in Summit Township.The suspects tore window screens and broke a window, but were unable to get inside, according to a police report. They fled on foot west on Herman Road. The report did not indicate if police have any suspects.Damage in the incident was placed at $150.7 p.m. Saturday — Basil A. Luchkiw, 37, of Cabot was arrested on charges that he assaulted his 29-year-old girlfriend on Criley Road in Clearfield Township. Police said Luchkiw and the woman got into an argument that escalated when he pushed her to the ground and kicked her in the chest.The defendant is also accused of dragging the victim across a gravel driveway, causing her clothes to rip. He was arraigned on charges of simple assault and harassment. He is free on $1 nominal bond.Saturday — A vandal used an unknown object to smash at least two mailboxes in the area of Beacon and Reibold roads in Forward Township. The vandalism occurred between 9:30 and 10:30 p.m.4:46 p.m. Sept. 5 — Sandra J. Delair, 71, of Parker was injured when she swerved her sport utility vehicle to avoid a deer and struck a utility pole and guardrail along Route 268 just north of Annisville Road in Parker Township.Delair, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with unknown injuries. Her vehicle had to be towed.
