There is a serious “jaywalking” problem in the City of Butler. On a daily basis I see people ignore the do not cross signal and cross the street expecting traffic to stop. It makes it especially dangerous when drivers turning left from Main Street with a green light, have to stop suddenly because a “jaywalker” is crossing, leaving the turning car exposed to oncoming traffic.

It would be a pleasant sight to see the City of Butler Police Department on Main Street citing “jaywalkers.”

There are so many impatient pedestrians that go along with impatient drivers lately. There seems to be at least one traffic accident a day in Butler County due to people being too impatient, but that is another story.
