I believe that it is appropriate to say to our military members “Thank you for your service.” However, I believe that we should include our police officers in saying the same thing. In 2018, a number of 144 police officers were killed in the United States, compared to 15 military service personnel in Afghanistan. Astounding to think that it is safer to be in Afghanistan than on the streets of our country. Let me be the first to say to our police officers “Thank you for your service.”
