Aug. 14 — A Butler teenager was charged with endangering others while riding a dirt bike earlier this month at Father Marinaro Park. Police said they found the defendant, 19-year-old Marcus C. Townsend, around 3:45 p.m. Aug. 4 after a caller reported someone on a dirt bike weaving “in and out of people.” An officer later spotted Townsend speeding on a dirt bike on Zeigler Avenue.

He is charged with reckless endangerment, a misdemeanor. Additionally, police cited him for several traffic offenses, including trespass by vehicle, driving with a suspended license, driving an unregistered vehicle, driving a vehicle without insurance and careless driving.

Monday — Police are asking for the public’s help in solving a recent burglary at a home on the 200 block of Rocks Road in Parker Township. The break-in occurred between Aug. 1 and 17. Stolen was a blue and white, 1961 Harley-Davidson Duo-Glide motorcycle, two Pacific Equipment compressors and two Pacific Equipment generators. Anyone with information is to call 724-284-8100.Aug. 15 — Police charged an Allegheny County woman with her third driving under the influence offense stemming from a July traffic stop. Anne-Marie Crawford, 50, of Bairdford was pulled over around 8:40 p.m. July 12 on the 300 block of West Cunningham Street. Crawford told police that she had taken methadone around 10 a.m. that day. A search of her car allegedly turned up a suspected drug smoking pipe and syringe.Police later took her to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test. Toxicology allegedly showed she had cocaine, methadone and metabolites of both those drugs in her system.In addition to driving under the influence, Crawford is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, failing to use turn signals and red light and seat belt violations.
