BRADFORD WOODS, Allegheny County — Cranberry, Adams and Harmony fire departments responded to a fire at a single-story house around 2 p.m. Monday.

The fire began in an attic, filling the house with smoke, said Reed Milliken, son of the homeowners.

Milliken said he and his brother were in the house when smoke began pouring into the second floor, adding there was “a lot” of fire. The 16-year-old and his brother grabbed the family dog and called 911 before heading outside.

Ken Serena, a neighbor, said he saw smoke coming from the house's attic before the two boys came into their yard.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
