Tornado win golf opener

Butler’s boys golf team opened its season Friday with a 220-224 victory over Knoch at Butler Country Club.

The Knights’ Ethan Ellis earned medalist honors in a losing cause with a 41.

Butler 220: Brayden Setnar 43, Colin Patterson 43, Tyler Robinson 44

Knoch 224: Ethan Ellis 41, Cory Volltz 42, Mike Kohl 45

KSAC Mega Match — Clarion won the first Mega Match of the season at Clarion Oaks with a 225. Moniteau finished second, eight strokes behind. A-C Valley/Union was sixth, Karns City seventh among the nine-team field.

Hayden Siegel of Clarion-Limestone was medalist with a 41. Moniteau’s Ethan McDeavitt and Jacob Felsing both carded a 42. Nate Tack had a 46 for the Warriors.

Broc Weigle led Union/A-C Valley with a 51 while Alex Olczak paced Karns City with a 56.
