A Butler County man is charged in Luzerne County with sending more than a dozen nude photos of his ex-girlfriend to other men through Facebook.

When police confronted Roy J. Yanvary, 44, about distributing the photos to two people, he told them that he “must have been drunk and (angry) at her,” according to a police complaint. Yanvary is charged with two misdemeanor counts of selling obscene/sexual materials.

The victim told police that she was in a relationship with Yanvary between June 2018 and April. During that time, she said she wasn't aware that he allegedly had taken nude photos of her.

Police said that the photos Yanvary sent through Facebook depicted Yanvary sleeping, passed out and were taken without her permission. But Yanvary allegedly told police that he had taken the nude photos of the victim with her consent for the purpose of having something by which to remember her.

Soon after the victim and Yanvary broke up, he allegedly sent 13 images of the victim to a man through Facebook.

A few days later, a second man allegedly received photos of the victim in the nude. Yanvary allegedly told police that this second man was another of the victim's ex-boyfriends.

Yanvary was released on a $10,000 unsecured bail. He is scheduled for a court hearing on Oct. 3. He has no listed attorney, according to court records.
