3:02 a.m. Monday — Police arrested a state of Indiana man for being more than twice Pennsylvania's legal limit for alcohol following a traffic stop on Kittanning Street.The defendant, Shawn D. Malone, 28, of Anderson, who admitted to drinking, was taken for a breath test, which allegedly showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.170 percent. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated.District Judge Lewis Stoughton arraigned Malone on charges of driving under the influence, driving without a license and a stop sign violation. He was placed in the Butler County Prison on $15,000 bail following arraignment.Monday — Police charged Anthony L. Williams, 29, of Philadelphia with having marijuana in connection with a traffic stop last month on South Monroe Street. The stop was made around 5:40 p.m. after officers recognized Williams' passenger, who they knew was wanted on a warrant.He is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana.11:24 p.m. Sunday — It was three strikes for a West Virginia woman who was arrested after she allegedly caused a commotion in the city's Island neighborhood.Police said they were called to the 400 block of Negley Avenue, where they found Cynthea N. Brown, 27, of Morgantown outside screaming an expletive. Officers immediately recognized her from two previous incidents that day for similar conduct, according to court documents.Just three hours earlier, police had arrested Brown for public drunkenness. She was subsequently released, but is accused of making an unreasonable noise in the second incident that day.After the third time, for the Island episode, she was arraigned on charges of disorderly conduct and public drunkenness. She was placed in the Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail following arraignment.6:12 p.m. Aug. 9 — Crystal L. Singer, 35, of East Brady was allegedly caught with a drug smoking pipe following a traffic stop on South Chestnut Street. Police said she was a passenger in the car.Singer is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.Aug. 7 — Georgette Fleeger, 47, of Butler was charged with failing to make required disposition of funds stemming from an incident earlier this year.Police said the alleged victim told them that on March 8, 2018, she gave Fleeger, the owner of the Second Chance Sober Living House on West Penn Street, $200 as the deposit to hold a bed at the facility.The women had an agreement for the deposit to be returned to the victim, according to court documents, once Fleeger was reimbursed by the Alliance for Nonprofit Resources.The defendant was allegedly reimbursed March 23, 2018, police said, but has failed to return the victim's deposit.

9:43 p.m. Aug. 7 — Two people were injured in a three-vehicle accident at Route 422 and Greenwood Drive. The wreck occurred when a vehicle driven by Ashleigh N. Presnar, 22, of New Castle struck a vehicle driven by Charlotte Angert, 56, of East Brady.The crash caused a rear tire to fall off Angert's car and hit a vehicle driven by Patrick McNulty, 21, of Sarver, according to a police report.Angert and Presnar were both injured. Angert was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital. Both of their vehicles had to be towed.Police cited Presnar for a stop sign violation.

Tuesday — Shawn M. LaCamera, 31, of Butler was charged with illegally attempting to buy two handguns earlier this year at a Center Township store.Police said LaCamera gave inaccurate information on a background check form Feb. 14 when he tried to buy two pistols at Dunham's Discount Sports at the Clearview Mall.The would-be purchase was denied after his information was entered into the Pennsylvania Instant Check system, which is operated by state police.He is charged with unlawfully attempting to buy a firearm, a felony, and unsworn falsification to authorities, a misdemeanor.Tuesday — Police reported they are investigating the Aug. 2 burglary of a Stony Batter Road home in Prospect, where a 9 mm pistol was stolen. The gun, a black Ruger LC9S, is valued at $300.Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.4:57 a.m. Sunday — A Westmoreland County woman lost control of her car and struck a mailbox before traveling into an embankment and overturning on Route 19 in Lancaster Township. Jayne M. Simon, 53, of Greensburg was not hurt, but her car had to be towed.Police cited her for disregarding traffic lanes.7:27 p.m. Aug. 9 — A Mercer County man's pickup truck crashed when the driver's side rear tire blew on Interstate 79 in Muddy Creek Township. Garrett J. Arnold, 21, of Greenville was not injured, but his truck had to be towed.6:37 a.m. Aug. 7 — Cody P. Pennycuff, 24, of Washington, Pa., lost control of his pickup truck and struck a utility pole along Moose Road just east of Route 68 in Connoquenessing Township. He was not injured.Police cited him for driving at an unsafe speed and disregarding traffic lanes.1:31 p.m. Aug. 6 — An unknown burglar was apparently caught in the act after breaking into a home on McKees Road in Allegheny Township.The suspect is believed to have entered the home through the front door. The victim, a 56-year-old Pittsburgh man, was inside and spotted the suspect, who went out the same door and fled on a light blue, Honda four-wheeler with a yellow strap attached to its front.The victim reported that nothing was taken from the home.
