The GFWC Saxonburg District Woman's Club is sponsoring a wine and painting party at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 26 at the Winfield Winery, 1026 Winfield Road, Cabot. All women over 18 are welcome.

It will be an evening of painting and wine while learning how the club helps the community. Light refreshments will be served.

The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s will take place Sept. 14 at Butler County Community College. Nearly 300 people are expected at this year’s event to raise awareness and funds to fight Alzheimer’s disease.Participants will honor those affected by Alzheimer’s disease with promise flowers during the Promise Garden Ceremony.More than 5 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease — the sixth-leading cause of death in the United States. Additionally, more than 16 million family members and friends provide care to people with Alzheimer’s and other dementias. In Pennsylvania alone, there are more than 400,000 people living with the disease and 676,000 caregivers.Participants can join a team or register to walk as an individual at alz.org/walk.
