Baby sitter safety class slatedBUTLER TWP — The Butler County Parks and Recreation Department will conduct a Safe Sitter baby sitter’s training class from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 17 at the Alameda Park Office, 184 Alameda Park Road.The class is designed for ages 11 to 15 with emphasis on prevention, safety, responsibility, leadership and professionalism.Pre-registration is required due to class size.For more information, registration instructions or class availability, call 724-284-5383. Painting in Park course plannedBUTLER TWP — The Butler County Parks and Recreation Department will have a Painting in the Park course at Alameda Park Office, 184 Alameda Park Road, from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.This is an introductory class. No skill is required but a minimum of eight people must sign up for the course to be taught.For more information, call 724-284-5383.

Weekly events set at Alameda ParkThe Butler County Parks and Recreation Department has the following weekly events scheduled at Alameda Park, 184 Alameda Park Road:Fitness in the Park Monday at the Carousel Shelter: 5:45 p.m. yoga and 7 p.m. zumba classes;Free Family Summer Concert Series ends at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday with the Big Fat Jazz band in the Odd Fellows Gazebo;The last Outdoor Discovery of the summer is at 6:30 p.m. Thursday with local historian Bill May discussing the “History of Alameda Park” in the Carousel Shelter;The Friday Moonlight Swim & Dive-In Movie is “Ralph Breaks the Internet” starting at 8:30 p.m.For more information, call 724-284-5383.
