Butler's 11U Little League all-star baseball team fell in the Section 1 tournament last weekend.

The PA District 25 champion, Butler traveled to Franklin for the double-elimination event. In its first game, Butler fell victim to a late-inning surge in an 11-1 loss to DuBois.

Jake Szebalskie led Butler with two singles, while Coltyn Povlick and Colton Hill both singled.

In an attempt to extend its stay, Butler was dealt a 10-4 defeat by Harborcreek, ending its season.

Curtis Kuntz and Szebalskie had two base hits apiece. Povlick, Preston Richter, Jordan Vicari and Hill all singled once.

DuBois won the section title.

MCMURRAY — Rob McClellan of Butler finished eighth in the 116th West Penn Open championship golf tournament after notching a 4-under 68 on Thursday to finish 8-under for the tournament at Valley Brook Country Club.Saxonburg resident Joe Boros finished tied for 24th after hitting a par 72 in the third and final round to finish the tournament plus-2.Beau Titsworth of Pittsburgh followed up his course record 62 from Wednesday with a 3-under 69 on Thursday to help him secure the tournament win by three strokes, with a 16-under finish.
