There were reports of a structure fire at the Butler State Police barracks in Butler Township on Monday afternoon, July 15, 2019, but the culprit was a faulty bulb socket. “There was an odor of smoke and the light ballast failed,” said Butler Fire Chief Chris Switala. “We just investigated it and confirmed with a thermal image scan that it was a light bulb outlet that went out, causing the smoke.”Harold Aughton/Butler Eagle
