BUTLER TWP— Eastbound traffic on Route 422 is closed at the Jefferson Street exit to Bonniebrook Road Tuesday due to a vehicle accident.

A state trooper said units were dispatched at 3:16 pm to an overturned tractor-trailer between the Jefferson Street on-ramp to the Mitchell Hill off-ramp.

As of 4:15 p.m., the trooper said eastbound traffic on that section of Route 422 would remain closed for several hours while the accident is cleared and an unknown substance that was spilled on the road is cleaned.

It is unknown at this time if there are any injuries or if the tractor-trailer struck other vehicles.

Oneida Valley Volunteer Fire Department is at the scene directing traffic
