JACKSON TWP — The Seneca Valley School District is again organizing a special Veteran Recognition Day during the first Raider Football home game Aug. 30.

Seneca Valley will recognize veterans and active military personnel who live in the district.

Veterans will once again be joining the football team in the locker room of the Raiders Field House to adhere American flag stickers to the players' helmets. Later, veterans will gather on the stadium track and be recognized for their service.

PROSPECT — The newly combined parish grouping of Northern Butler County St. Alphonsus, St. Christopher and St. Peter Family Festival (formerly St. Christopher at the Lake Church Festival) will run from 5 to 10 p.m. Aug. 2 and 3 at 229 N. Franklin St..There will be games for all ages, basket raffles and other raffles, a flea market and bingo.Food includes barbecue chicken, homemade pie and ethnic favorites, such as haluski and gyros.There will be a childern’s talent show at 6 p.m. Aug. 2 and a 4 p.m. outdoor Mass Aug. 3.For more information, call 724-865-2430.
