A suspected drugged driver from Butler is accused of stopping her car in the middle of Route 68, fighting with a man who tried to help her, kicking at troopers and attempting to grab one of the officer's Tasers.

Amy R. Seybert, 42, faces a list of felony and misdemeanor charges stemming from the Monday afternoon incident - including two felony counts of aggravated assault and a felony count of attempting to disarm a law enforcement officer.

Police said they were called shortly before 2 p.m. for a report of a sport utility vehicle parked on Route 68 in Donegal Township and a woman believed to be impaired and fighting with people who stopped to help her.

Trooper David Wellington arrived and found Seybert lying on the ground with a 55-year-old Karns City man on top of her, according to charging documents. The man, who police identified as a victim, is retired state trooper.

The man told police that he saw the woman and “could see something wasn't right,” Wellington said in his affidavit. The man told authorities he stopped to see if the woman was okay and also called police.

Seybert allegedly struck him, and he took her to the ground and waited for troopers to arrive. Police said that during the tussle Seybert allegedly threw a vape pen at the man and admitted to smoking THC oil.

When he arrived on scene, Wellington squatted down beside the man and tried to assist him with the woman while waiting for an ambulance crew.

“Seybert then reached back and grabbed onto my (T)aser," Wellington said.

The trooper broke the woman's grip and placed her in handcuffs. But she continued to struggle and kicked the officer, documents said.

The defendant continued to act up after being placed in the back of a cruiser, allegedly kicking and screaming obscenities. She is also accused of trying to kick out a side window and kicking at a second trooper who arrived on scene to assist.

No injures were reported in the incident.
