PITTSBURGH — The Rivers Casino has announced plans to break ground on a $60 million hotel project.

The 219-room, four-star property to be built on the North Shore will be called “The Landing Hotel Pittsburgh.” Officials say they expect the seven-story project to bring about 128 new hotel and casino jobs along with 1,400 temporary construction jobs.

They said the city planning commission approved the project in 2017 but it was postponed after lawmakers approved mini-casinos in Pennsylvania.

Greg Carlin, CEO of Rush Street Gaming and Rivers Casino Pittsburgh, said now “the time is right.”

Ribbon-cutting is expected in early 2021.

NEW YORK — Online shopping giant Amazon says it will lease 15 more Boeing 737s as it seeks to grow its delivery business.Amazon says it currently has 42 planes in its fleet and will have 70 by 2021.Besides its fleet of planes, Amazon is building several hubs at airports that sort packages and has launched a program that lets contractors start businesses delivering packages in vans stamped with the Amazon logo.

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — Kellogg Co. is cutting 150 salaried jobs across North America as part of the previously announced sale of its cookie and fruit snack businesses.The Battle Creek-based company said Tuesday the action will result in pretax charges of approximately $35 million, including $20 million in severance and termination benefits.Kellogg announced in April that it was selling its Keebler and Famous Amos cookie brands — as well as its fruit snack, pie crust and ice cream cone businesses — to Italy’s Ferraro International for $1.3 billion.That sale is expected to close at the end of July. Kellogg said its job cuts and staff reorganization will be complete by the end of 2020.
