Sections of Route 38 closed due to flooding

Flooding caused several sections of Route 38 to close Tuesday afternoon.

CENTER TWP — Flooding has closed several roads in Butler County today.

Route 38 is closed, and was joined Monday afternoon by Henrichs Road, which intersects Route 38 north of Butler.

Route 38 is closed from the intersection of Glenwood Way to the intersection of Hoon Road and Pine Tract Road in the township. The road is expected to reopen Wednesday afternoon.

Mike Mattis, District 10 manager, said the road is closed due to flooding and high waters coming from the adjacent Connoquenessing Creek.

Route 3025 was closed Monday morning because of flooding from Yellow Creek in the Lancaster Township area, but the road has reopened, Mattis said.

Mattis recommended motorists should pay attention to

511PA before hitting the road, a service that issues updates on the latest road closures.“It depends on how much rain we get,” Mattis said. “If it stops tonight into tomorrow, it would help.”
